High Flow Filter
Universal Pleat Flow – Pleated Series High flow filter : The Engineering Alternative to Bag Filtration
In large-scale industrial water treatment, efficiency is measured by the balance of flow-rate versus footprint. The K Filter Pleat Flow High Flow filter Universal Series is a large-geometry, multi-layer depth pleated solution designed to replace traditional bag filters and multi-cartridge housings. By offering an expansive surface area in a single, high-capacity element, our cartridges allow for massive flow rates with fewer change-outs, significantly reducing operational expenditure (OPEX) and system downtime.

The High-Flow Interchange: Global Brand Compatibility
Our High Flow Filter series is engineered to be an Absolute High Flow Filter Substitute, providing equal or superior performance to the world’s leading filtration brands:
- Pall Ultipleat™ High Flow Substitute filter
- 3M™ CUNO™ 700 & 740 Series Substitute filter
- Parker Fulflo® MegaFlow™ & MaxGuard™ Substitute filter
- Pentair AquaLine™ Substitute filter
- Everblue & standard 6-inch (152mm) geometries
Advanced Pleating Technology: Optimized for Throughput
The K Filter High Flow Filter Series is defined by its “Inside-to-Outside” or “Outside-to-Inside” flow paths, depending on your existing housing:
- Maximized Surface Area: Utilizing advanced pleating geometry, one High-Flow cartridge can replace up to 20 standard 10-inch filters or two #2 bag filters. This translates to a smaller housing footprint and 50% faster maintenance.
- Multi-Layer Depth Matrix: Available in Polypropylene (PP) for chemical versatility or Micro-Glass for absolute-rated precision. The graded-density pleats ensure that contaminants are trapped throughout the depth, not just on the surface.
- Low Initial Pressure Drop (ΔP): The large diameter (6.5 inches / 165mm) and optimized pleat pack allow for ultra-low resistance, reducing energy costs for high-volume pumps in Desalination and Boiler loops.
- Rugged Industrial Build: Thermally bonded construction with integrated handles for easy installation. Designed to handle the high differential pressures common in Petroleum and Chemical process lines.

| Micro-Glass | 0.1 – 40 µm | 100°C+ | Absolute | Oil Removal, Condensate |
| Polyester | 1.0 – 100 µm | 120°C | Nominal | High-Temp Process Water |
| Nylon 6 | 0.1 – 50 µm | 120°C | High-Retention |
The Strategic Advantages of High-Flow Pleated Filtration
1. Massive Surface Area (The 20-to-1 Rule)
A single 60-inch High-Flow cartridge has the equivalent surface area of 20 to 25 standard 10-inch melt-blown filters.
- The Benefit: Higher dirt-holding capacity means the filter stays in the housing longer before reaching terminal differential pressure (ΔP).
2. Reduced “Footprint” & Capital Expenditure (CAPEX)
Because one high-flow element handles significantly more volume (up to 500 GPM / 110 m3/hr per cartridge), the filter housing can be much smaller.
- The Benefit: For new installations, a smaller housing saves floor space and costs up to 40% less than a massive multi-round standard housing.
3. Drastic Reduction in Maintenance & Downtime
Changing 40-50 small cartridges takes hours; changing 3 or 4 high-flow cartridges takes minutes.
- The Benefit: Faster change-outs mean less system downtime and significantly lower labor costs. This is a critical selling point for 24/7 Refinery and Desalination operations.
4. “Inside-to-Outside” Contaminant Capture
Most high-flow models (like our 3M and Pall interchanges) flow from the inside of the pleat to the outside.
- The Benefit: All the “dirt” and sludge is trapped inside the cartridge. When you pull the filter out, the housing remains clean, and no contaminants spill back into the “clean side” of the system.
5. Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
While a high flow filter cartridge costs more upfront than a single 10-inch filter, the Life Cycle Cost is much lower.
- The Benefit: Fewer filters to buy, fewer filters to ship, and—most importantly in the Middle East and Europe—significantly lower disposal costs for hazardous or oily waste.

FAQ: High-Flow Pleated Filtration
1. Can I replace my existing Bag Filters with these cartridges?
Yes. We provide High-Flow Retrofit cartridges that fit into most standard Bag Filter housings with a simple adaptor. Moving from a bag to a pleated cartridge increases your filtration surface area by up to 1000%, leading to much cleaner water and much longer run times between changes.
2. How does the quality compare to Pall or 3M Cuno?
Our cartridges are manufactured to the same ISO and industrial standards as Pall Ultipleat and 3M 740 series. We use identical high-performance media and thermal-bonding techniques. The primary difference is the value and lead-time advantage provided by our regional manufacturing expertise in Qatar.
3. Why use High Flow filters for Sea Water Desalination (RO)?
RO membranes are extremely sensitive to silt and organic matter. High-flow pleated filters provide an Absolute 1-micron to 5-micron barrier that protects the membranes. Because the surface area is so high, the velocity of the water through the media is low, which prevents “particle breakthrough” that often happens with bag filters.
4. Are these suitable for Boiler Condensate?
Absolutely. Our High Flow Filter series is designed to handle the high temperatures and flow rates of boiler return lines. They are excellent for removing “crud” (iron oxides) to protect the boiler tubes from scaling and hotspots.
5. What is the benefit of the 70-inch length?
In massive plants, using fewer, longer filters is more efficient. Our 70-inch seamless construction (no welds or joints) is a significant advantage, allowing for the highest possible flow per housing while eliminating potential leak paths found in stacked or joined filters.
6. Can I put a High Flow filter in my standard housing?
A: No. High-Flow filters require a specific large-diameter housing (usually a 6-inch or 7-inch opening). However, the CAPEX of a new High-Flow housing is often paid back in 6 months through lower filter and labor costs.
7. Does the “Inside-to-Outside” flow direction matter?
A: Yes! In a standard pleated filter, dirt is on the outside. When you pull it out, dirt can fall into the clean water. In our High Flow Filter Series, the dirt is trapped inside the center core. When you pull the filter out, the dirt stays in the filter. This is much “healthier” for the system.
8. Is the 70-inch version better than the 40-inch?
A: For Refineries and Desalination, yes. The 70-inch seamless model provides the highest flow-to-seal ratio. Fewer seals mean fewer chances for “bypass.”
9. K Filter High flow filter made in Middle East?
Yes, the K Filter is the one and only High Flow Filter Series manufacturer right here in the Middle East.
Specifically, our primary manufacturing facility is K Filter Manufacturing WLL, located in the Aba Saleel Logistics Park in Doha, Qatar. B
