RO Protect Clean G Series: High-Flow Grooved Surface Replacement Filters

In high-demand industrial environments, maintaining a high flow rate without sacrificing particle retention is a constant engineering challenge. The K Filter RO Protect Clean G Series is a precision-engineered, grooved-surface melt-blown cartridge designed for High Dirt-Holding Capacity. Specifically developed as a high-performance international replacement (substitute filter) for Cuno Micro-Klean™ and other legacy filters, the G Series provides a seamless interchange for systems requiring maximum throughput and absolute reliability.

K Filter G Series: The Precision-Grooved Alternative to Cuno Micro-Klean™*

“We didn’t just build a substitute; we engineered an upgrade. By combining the classic grooved topography with our proprietary PLC-controlled melt-blown technology, the G Series delivers the high-flow throughput of a legacy filter with the modern purity of absolute-grade fibers.”

The Grooved Surface Advantage: Engineered for Throughput

The “G Series” topography is designed to break the surface tension of high-flow streams:

Expanded Filtration Surface: The deep longitudinal grooves increase the effective surface area by over 50% compared to smooth cartridges. This prevents “surface blinding” and allows the filter to handle heavy contaminant loads.

Dual-Stage Gradient Density: Utilizing advanced PLC-controlled melt-blown technology, the G Series features a coarse outer “pre-filter” layer and a dense inner “final-filter” layer. This ensures depth filtration that captures particles throughout the entire media cross-section.

Coreless High-Strength Design: Our coreless construction maximizes the internal volume for fluid flow while maintaining structural integrity. This allows for easy disposal and high chemical compatibility.

95% Efficiency Precision: Calibrated for high-flow environments where a balance of efficiency and low pressure drop (ΔP) is critical. Available in absolute ratings from 0.1 µm to 50 µm.

FAQ: RO Protect Clean G Series (Grooved)

1. Is the G Series a direct interchange for Cuno Micro-Klean?

Yes. The RO Protect Clean G Series is designed with the same dimensional standards and grooved topography as the Cuno Micro-Klean™* series. It serves as a superior “drop-in” replacement, often providing higher dirt-holding capacity due to our advanced PLC-controlled fiber density.

2. Why are “Grooves” better than a smooth surface?

In high-flow applications, a smooth filter can quickly form a “cake” of dirt on the surface, which stops the flow of water (blinding). The grooves create deep valleys that stay open longer, allowing water to penetrate the inner layers even when the outer surface is heavily loaded with contaminants.

3. Does a “Coreless” design mean the filter is weak?

Not at all. Our melt-blown spun technology thermally bonds the polypropylene fibers into a rigid, self-supporting structure. The coreless design is actually an advantage—it provides a larger internal flow path and makes the cartridge 100% incinerable for easy waste management in Europe and North America.

4. Will fibers release during pressure spikes?

No. A major advantage of the K Filter G Series is its thermal bonding. Unlike cheaper string-wound or resin filters that might “shed,” our polypropylene fibers are locked in place. This ensures no fiber migration occurs even during variations in flow or system pressure.

5. Can I customize the end connections?

Absolutely. While the Double Open End (DOE) is the most common for grooved filters, we provide 222 with fine/flat or Code 7 connections to ensure compatibility with all international filter housing brands

Why Choose the G Series (Grooved)?

“The High-Volume Powerhouse”
  • The “Cuno” Switch: Use this when a customer is currently using Cuno Micro-Klean and wants a more modern, fiber-free, and cost-effective alternative.
  • Reducing Pressure Drop: The longitudinal grooves act like “superhighways” for water, allowing high volumes to pass through even when the filter is 70% loaded.
  • Heavy Scale Loading: Best for pipes with heavy “Flake” rust or mineral scale that would usually “blind” a smooth filter instantly.

2. Why Choose the O Series (Orange Peel)?

“The Biological Shield”
  • Membrane Protection: This is the “Premium” choice for Desalination (RO). The wrinkled surface is specifically designed to trap “sticky” biological matter (algae/bacteria) that would otherwise slide through a grooved filter or clog a smooth one.
  • Absolute Purity: Unlike the G Series (95%), the O Series offers 99.98% Absolute efficiency. It is for clients who cannot compromise on downstream water quality.

3. Why Choose the Standard Series (Smooth)?

“The Precision Polisher”
  • Multi-Stage Refinement: Our standard series uses three distinct layers of density. It is the best choice for the “Final Stage” of filtration in Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, or Microelectronics where “Absolute” retention of the smallest particles is the only goal.
